Slate meets Limestone

Saar meets Rheinhessen. Willems meets Hofmann.

Carolin (née Willems) and Jürgen Hoffmann unite the terroir of their two hometowns:

the joining of their individual estates necessitated changes to both of their bottle designs. The labels for the estates’ traditional portfolios, one created in Oberemmel, the other in Appenheim, now carry the signet of their respective terroirs. Each label also proudly bears an individual hand-drawn illustration that encapsulates the distinctive character of each wine.

Slate soil on the Saar

With its precise linearity, the Willems-Willems logo symbolizes the slate soils of the Konzer Tälchen ('Little Konz Valley') off the Saar.

Shell limestone in Rheinhessen

Round, soft shapes pictorially represent the gustatory experience of Hofmann wines, influenced by the climactic and topographical conditions of the Appenheim vineyards and their soils.

Tasting room

Bright, modern and tailored to their taste: with its clean, unadorned Bauhaus style, Carolin and Jürgen Hofmann’s new tasting room was a long-held dream now come true. A place to relax, taste in good company, sip and enjoy. Set amid a verdant tableau that looks out onto the surrounding vineyards and the glassy new cellar, the Vinothek is the ideal spot to savor both the Willems-Willems and Hofmann portfolios of wines.

Sundays and holidays are reserved for family time, but the Hofmann's look forward to welcoming you on all other days in the tasting room and for a tour of the facilities.

FRITZ MÜLLER

After talking with our dear friend Guido Walter, a wine retailer from Munich, the idea took shape for a lightly sparkling wine from Germany with a great name and an even better taste.
